How To Help Us

WE ARE COMMITTED TO PROVIDING A HIGH QUALITY SERVICE TO MEET YOUR NEEDS BY

1. Dealing with you courteously.
2. Ensuring that all information about you is kept confidential and giving you access to your medical records on request.
3. Offering an appropriate appointment in a timely manner.
4. Trying to keep appointments on time.
5. Arranging interpreters when required - practice employed bi-lingual staff (Urdu/Punjabi and Arabic) or outside interpreters for other languages.
6. Using interpreters can take a bit longer and sometime surgeries over-run. Please try to be patient when this happens. If you feel you cannot wait to be seen, please ask staff to arrange another appointment for you.
7. Giving priority to patients with urgent medical conditions, who will be seen as soon as possible, although this may delay booked appointments.
8. Offering new patients a health check.
9. Advising you on how to keep healthy and self-manage minor ailments.
10. Making repeat prescriptions available within 24 hours of ordering.
11. Giving you information about any illness, treatment and the likely outcome.
12. Referring you to an appropriate specialist when a doctor considers this is necessary.
13. Facilitating the making of suggestions or complaints.
14. Advising you of our services by brochure, notice boards and leaflets.

PLEASE HELP US TO ACHIEVE THIS BY:

1. Being polite to our staff at all times.
2. Attending appointments on time, as arriving late wastes time and causes delays and inconvenience to other patients.
3. Contacting the practice at least an hour before when cancelling an appointment so reception staff can offer it to another patient.
4. Remembering that an appointment is for one patient only. If you wish to discuss another member of the family a separate appointment is required.
5. If you are worried about a problem, making sure that you have explained your concern fully to the doctor or nurse so they understand.
6. Only requesting a home visit if it is essential, not because the weather is bad or you have other commitments at home. Visit requests should be made before 10.30am if possible.
7. Being aware that the practice reserves the right to remove any patients from the practice for unacceptable behaviour e.g. verbal or physical abuse, or persistently missing appointments.

Please note that violent or aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated and the practice will involve the police and prosecute if necessary. Patients who are violent or aggressive will be removed from our practice list.
